Blessing Health expands use of Allscripts to integrate records

By | March 2, 2019

Blessing Health System, a two-hospital delivery system with 307 beds in Quincy, Ill., is expanding its existing relationship with Allscripts as it seeks to create one single integrated clinical and financial patient record.

Blessing Health has worked with Allscripts for 15 years and currently uses six of its applications. Now, it will add the vendor’s ambulatory, financial manager, surgical care, wound care and mobility products, as well as smart pump integration in a bid to better support strategic initiatives.

“Our goal is to create a single patient record,” says Lea Ann Eickelschulte, Blessing’s CIO. “We have had success with Allscripts and are building on our Sunrise platform to improve the efficiency of clinical operations and connect physicians to coordinate patient care for better outcomes and a healthier community.”

In addition to the hospitals, Blessing Health System includes a clinic, physician practices and Blessing-Rieman College of Nursing.

Other contracts announced in the past week include:

Hackensack University Medical Center, a 781-bed not-for-profit teaching and research facility in Bergen County, N.J., has announced it is the first hospital in the state to adopt the HeartFlow Analysis noninvasive technology that aids physicians in diagnosing coronary artery disease. Valley Regional Hospital, a critical access hospital in Claremount, N.H., has been a long-time user of the MEDHOST electronic health record, but recently left for another vendor.
