If an infection isn’t stopped, it can lead to additional complications like sepsis, a life-threatening medical emergency. Symptoms of a C. difficile infection include severe diarrhea, loss of appetite, abdominal pain/tenderness, and nausea. Often these symptoms come with a fever.
