Recent studies published in the JAMA reported that in states that have legalized medical marijuana prescriptions for opioid painkillers have decreased compared to states that do not have legalized medical marijuana. This may also relate to reduced opioid overdose death rates. There is constant disagreement about the downside of allowing medical marijuana.
