See Family by the Ton's Casey Work Out With a Personal Trainer for the First Time

Casey King has been very honest in his journey battling obesity on the latest season of TLC’s Family by the Ton (airing Wednesday nights), the spinoff of the hit reality series My 600-lb Life. The 700-pound 34-year-old from Georgia is ready to dramatically change his lifestyle in order to lose weight, including adopting a new eating program.

The gym is his next challenge. In this exclusive clip from Wednesday’s episode provided to Men’s Health by TLC, Casey visits a personal trainer he’s hired, his first time ever doing so. And he admits that it’s been a “long time” since he’s hit the gym, though he has been swimming in an attempt to be more active.

“I’m a little bit nervous,” Casey says as he approaches the training session. “I want to feel tired. I don’t think that’s a terrible feeling… It’s just, like, I don’t want to die.”

Casey’s trainer Dexter has him go through arm rotations, lifting his legs, and lifting a weight. During the latter activity, he becomes “dizzy” and has to sit down. But Dexter, who says he hasn’t dealt with a client in Casey’s position, encourages him, “We’ll take it one pound at a time.”
