Latest snapshot of the coronavirus impact

* The prime minister has given up on giving all Australians their first vaccine doses by the end of October, conceding it may not happen until next year despite the government doubling its order of the Pfizer vaccine.

* Chief Medical Officer Paul Kelly said the updated AstraZeneca vaccine advice had forced a recalibration of vaccine targets.

* Professor Kelly said the initial phases of vaccinating quarantine, border, health, aged care and disability workers and residents were on track to be completed mid-year.

* The Victorian government will continue its pause on COVID-19 AstraZeneca vaccinations to people under 50.

* NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian says Australia risks being “left behind” the world unless the rollout of COVID-19 vaccines gets back on track, and NSW will continue with its plan to set up mass vaccination hubs.

AUSTRALIAN CORONAVIRUS NUMBERS:

* Australia reported no locally acquired virus cases on Monday.

* There were 13 overseas-acquired cases in hotel quarantine: nine in NSW, two in Victoria, one in Queensland and one in Western Australia.

* The national death toll is 909: Victoria 820, NSW 56, Tasmania 13, WA 9, Queensland 6, SA 4, ACT 3 (Two Queensland residents who died in NSW have been included in the official tolls of both states).

* 1,178,302 COVID-19 vaccinations carried out up to Sunday, including 12,227 in the previous 24 hours.

GLOBAL CORONAVIRUS NUMBERS:

* Cases: at least 136,056,956

* Deaths: at least 2,936,768

* Recovered: at least 77,442,237
