The three key people who have led NSW through the COVID-19 pandemic for the past year are stepping up to get vaccinated against the deadly virus.
Premier Gladys Berejiklian, Health Minister Brad Hazzard and NSW Chief Health Officer Kerry Chant will be the first to receive the AstraZeneca vaccine on Wednesday.
The trio, who have hosted countless press briefings over the past year about the state of the virus in NSW, will get the jab at St George Hospital in Sydney’s south as the AstraZeneca rollout begins in NSW.
Almost 22,000 people have already received the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine in NSW since February 22, with frontline workers and the elderly and vulnerable the first in the queue.
NSW hasn’t had a case of COVID-19 in the community for 51 days.
