Dr. Pimple Popper Removes a Forehead Pilar Cyst Shaped Like a ‘Magic Bean’

By | August 5, 2019

• In a new YouTube video, Dr. Pimple Popper removes a small pilar cyst from a man’s forehead, which she compares to a “magic bean.”
• Pilar cysts are fluid-filled lumps that tend to form on the scalp and can sometimes go way on their own.
• They’re typically benign, and affect just 5 to 10 percent of the population.

In her newest YouTube video, Dr. Pimple Popper helps a man remove a small pilar cyst located on his forehead, a problem the patient says he’s dealt with at least 20 times in the past. (Pilar cysts, as MedicalNewsToday notes, are typically harmless lumps that occur when follicles become clogged, causing them to fill up with keratin.)

This time, the procedure itself is pretty straightforward: As the clip begins, Dr. Pimple Popper—aka, dermatologist and TLC host Dr. Sandra Lee, MD—is shown making a small incision using a pair of surgical scissors.

She then promptly squeezes the pilar cyst out of the patient’s forehead crease, comparing it to a “magic bean.”

As one commenter puts it, “There’s something so satisfying about the whole cyst coming out in one piece.”

That’s also why Dr. Lee gives the patient a chance to provide her fans with one of their favorite moments—cutting into the cyst to show what’s inside. As the clip ends, the patient uses a scalpel to slice apart the cyst wall, at which point Dr. Lee gives it a squeeze for good measure, revealing what’s inside. “See that? That’s all dead skin cells,” she says.

Way to ruin the magic, doc.

Season 3 of Dr. Pimple Popper is currently airing on TLC on Thursdays at 9/8 central.
