Sleep Apnea And Depression

The problems caused by sleep apnea are usually related to the poor obstructed sleep. For example we now know that people with sleep apnea have an increased incidence of cardiovascular disease and glaucoma. Now we are learning that sleep apnea is related to an increased incidence of depression and that treatment with a CPAP has reduced the cases  of depression by 20%. It seems that people who do not sleep well are more prone to depression and thatTreatment of the obstructive disorder is probably more effective than hours spent on the couch getting psychotherapy.
